The compression spring highlighted in this portfolio is a product of our precision wire forming and coiling capabilities. This part features a very tight spring index with variable pitch which makes the diameter dimensions difficult to hold throughout the length of this 8.75" spring.

The spring is made out of 0.058" music wire and is coiled on one of our CNC coilers. Tight print tolerances and the inside diameter/outside diameter specifications on the print demand careful quality control and attention. As such, Sterling Spring's skilled tool makers fabricated custom gauges to check dimensions for the initial and in-process inspections. The finished springs were then phosphate coated by one of our preferred suppliers and delivered to the customer in Wichita, Kansas.
